Milk jug and sugar bowl with lid and spoon.
My main interest in creating this jug and bowl set was to stay as close as possible to the function dictated by the technicality of the objects. At the same time, I wanted to design a unit for use on the table – a unit that can dissolve when jug and bowl are used each in its turn, which is obvious at first glance nevertheless. These considerations resulted in a design comprising two basic geometrical objects drawing their functional value from the way their shapes intersect and their respective cuts fit into each other.
The work techniques and surface finishes were chosen with respect to the desired clarity of design. Both jug and bowl were raised in order to avoid soldered seams. The lid clicks into the bowl‘s body by means of a groove, double functioning as a support allowing easy removal of the lid. The spoon handle has a rectangular cross section fitting, with a certain play, both through spoon slot and milk spout. In this way, milk jug and sugar bowl can be linked without first removing the spoon.
